We all know that life happens and even those who are financially stable can find themselves in a bad situation. People find themselves sacrificing to provide for their families. What about the family pet? What happens to them when their family can no longer afford them? Some of them are lucky enough to find a new home, but unfortunately many of them are taken to the local shelter and surrendered. It happens every day and it is never an easy decision to make. MercE Pantry wants to give individuals and families another option when times get tough. We want to provide qualifying individuals and families with free pet food. Our hope is to keep pets with their families and to give families a sense of security and hope.
Shelters are overwhelmed and there are just not enough homes. According to the ASPCA approximately 5-7 million animals enter shelters every year. Sadly 3-4 million of those are euthanized.
We do not want anyone's beloved family pet to become a part of those statistics.
So if your car breaks down, a family member becomes ill, you lose your job or any other unfortunate circumstance happens to you and you find yourself needing help, please contact us for an application for pet food assistance! We want to help you and your pets stay together!
